Every day, we celebrate our members’ tremendous successes – from their very first pound lost right the way to their target weight and beyond. And as well as awards and celebrations, each group runs fabulous member competitions to find the most inspirational slimmers – as voted by their fellow members.

Each November, at a lavish Awards Ceremony at Birmingham’s ICC, we honour our national winners. And our short video below takes you on ten of our members' journey – from our national semi-finals to our inspirational awards ceremony – as we celebrate just how amazing each and every Slimming World member truly is.

The music you’ll hear in the background is a song that could have been written for us: ‘Amazing’ by Liam Live. The first line of the refrain is ‘because you’re amazing’ and it’s dedicated to all our members – whether they’re at the very start of their weight loss journey, or enjoying the tremendous feeling of being at target.

*Woman of the Year Penny shunned surgery for Slimming World
Just 18 months ago, mum of four Penny was just weeks away from gastric band surgery. Years of weight-related health problems, including asthma, high blood pressure and high cholesterol – not helped by her smoking, had left her unable to work, depressed and immobile. *Life is plain sailing for Mr & Mrs Slimming World 2008
After struggling with weight problems over 20 years, Michelle and Andy Smith from Kirkby in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, have lost over 13 stones together to be crowned Mr & Mrs Slimming World 2008.

Brian Semple, who lives in Chippenham in Wiltshire has lost an outstanding 15st 2lb to completely transform his life and take the title of Slimming World’s Man of the Year 2008.

Eighteen year old Jack Mitchell from Sunderland has been announced as the winner of Slimming World's Young Slimmer of the Year 2008 after losing a phenomenal 7½ stones.
